Bruce H. Hamilton

Hamilton_BruceBruce Hamilton is a Senior Nuclear Safety Consultant at Talisman. He is a forty-four year veteran of the nuclear industry with commercial and government experience spanning construction, start-up, operation and maintenance, and major plant refurbishment and modernization. Over 35 years of this experience was in management roles of increasing responsibility culminating in the roles of site vice president at both the Oconee Nuclear Station and the McGuire Nuclear Station. During his leadership of those stations both earned Excellent Ratings from the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO). Over the course of his career, Mr. Hamilton earned a Senior Reactor Operator license issued by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for McGuire Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2, served as a loaned professional to INPO conducting numerous plant performance evaluations, served as a loaned executive to Lockheed Martin as the Vice President of Nuclear Operations at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory, and held a Q Clearance from the Department of Energy.

Since retirement from Duke Energy in 2010, he has continued to serve the industry as a consultant to the existing operating fleet and the new nuclear project programs both domestic and overseas. Operating fleet clients have included Exelon, Constellation Nuclear Energy Group, Dominion, Duke Energy, Next Era, Progress Energy, TVA, Entergy, and DTE. Other clients have included Westinghouse, Holtec, Advanced Energy America, a partnership of URS and Mitsubishi, (North Anna 3) and Chicago Bridge & Iron (Vogtle 3 & 4 and Summer 2 & 3), and proposed nuclear projects in Great Britain, Poland and the Czech Republic.

A recognized expert in nuclear leadership, nuclear safety culture, and safety conscious work environment, Mr. Hamilton has provided numerous consulting services, training and readiness assessments in these areas for various operating plant and fuel fabrication facility clients. Mr. Hamilton received a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Virginia.
