Bruce Burgess is a Nuclear Safety Consultant at Talisman. He has over 40 years of experience in the nuclear power industry in both construction and operation of nuclear reactor sites, and Navy nuclear submarine service. Mr. Burgess retired from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in 2009 after 30 years of service. In his last position at the NRC, he was the Senior Project Manager in Region II’s Division of Construction Projects. Previously, he had served in Region III as a Branch Chief in the Division of Reactor Projects/Division of Reactor Safety and as an Enforcement/Investigations Officer. He began his service at the NRC as a Resident Inspector.
Mr. Burgess has a thorough knowledge of the operational and engineering applications used at nuclear power plants and has demonstrated experience in identifying and analyzing potential safety significant issues for BWR and PWR reactors. He is an experienced inspector of equipment testing, engineering, maintenance, operations activities, and facility management, such as quality assurance and administrative controls. He has a thorough understanding of NRC rules, regulations, and procedures for the administration and enforcement of licensee activities for operating nuclear power plants, as well as those under construction per 10 CFR 52.
Mr. Burgess earned a B.A in Business Management from Aurora University.
