Maurice Daugherty is a Senior Security Consultant to Talisman. He has over 25 years experience in leading and managing diverse security programs, processes and procedures. His experience includes responsibility for establishing and implementing comprehensive programs for the protection of personnel, facilities, nuclear assets, and classified and other sensitive materials. Prior to joining Talisman, he was the Director of the Office of Safeguards and Security/Emergency Management in the Office of Environmental Management at the U. S. Department of Energy (DOE). As a result, he has extensive knowledge of Federal agency-wide safeguards and security (S&S) and emergency management policies required to protect U.S. nuclear assets. This knowledge includes the management of physical security systems, material control and accountability, information security, and personnel security activities.
Prior experience includes 21 years as Criminal Investigator in the U.S. Secret Service, where his assignments included the protection of U.S. Presidents and dignitaries. During this time, he conducted security advances for the President of the United States, Vice-President, members of their families and both foreign and domestic dignitaries. He was also responsible for security surveys of various buildings and complexes, including Walter Reed Army Hospital, National Naval Medical Center, and embassies. Additional responsibility involved conducting foreign advances throughout the Middle East, Russia, India, and various European countries. He holds a B.A. degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland.
