Thierry Ross is a Nuclear Safety Consultant at Talisman. He has over 34 years of experience in the nuclear industry primarily related to the inspection and licensing of commercial nuclear power plants. Prior to his retirement from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) in March 2012, Mr. Ross served as the Senior Resident Inspector at three operating nuclear power plants (Farley, St. Lucie and Browns Ferry). He also served as the NRC Licensing Project Manager at several NRC-licensed power reactors (TMI-1, Quad Cities, and Browns Ferry). Before joining the NRC, Mr. Ross was a qualified nuclear shift test engineer and reactor systems engineer for the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Ross possesses a thorough knowledge of the operational, engineering, and licensing processes and applications used at commercial nuclear power plants, as well as demonstrated experience in identifying and analyzing potential safety significant issues for BWR and PWR reactors. He has extensive experience and training in the examination, inspection, review, monitoring, and assessment of nuclear power plant personnel performance, equipment and system testing, engineering, maintenance, operational activities, and facility management, including implementation of quality assurance programs and administrative controls. He also possesses extensive project management experience and a thorough understanding of NRC rules, regulations, and procedures for the licensing, administration, inspection and enforcement of licensed activities of operating nuclear power plants.
Mr. Ross holds a B.S. in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Florida.
